Yahoo has said it will pass on annual raises this year in an effort to keep expenses in line with sales. It isn’t specified if this will include all employees or executive level employees. Right now we’re sticking with all employees.

Yea it’s that serious. The once untouchable company Google has announced it will lay off about 100 recruiters. That’s in addition to many of it’s independent contractors that it has ended contracts with.
Not a big deal you say, it’s only 100 people? Well, if Google is making any kinds of cuts, it shows how serious this recession is. Their main cash cow, advertising, has slowed considerably as corporate america slashes advertising budgets to shore up their financial situation.
Also noted were a number of divisions being axed including several offices around the world and many non performing assets were shut down or are in the process of being shut down.
Google also said they are still hiring at a reduced rate for other positions.
