Gottschalks, a regional department store chain has filed for bankruptcy protection to allow it to reorganize it’s financial house. The economy and softer spending in stores were given as reasons. It seems like every day we hear of another regional company dropping into the bankruptcy bucket. Will huge megastores be the only survivors or this recession?
